I don’t know if it’s just me, but I’m already starting to think that happy and me don’t actually mix. Every time I go to some place that’s supposed to be “happy”, I always end up rather “unhappy”. I don’t actually know why. NomNomNom Happy Food wasn’t an exception to that, and this restaurant has now become one of those supposedly happy places that didn’t really fix a ‘happy’ smile on my face.
Have you ever experienced an extremely laid-back Sunday morning on a warm sunny day? How about a wonderful day you spent with your family, sitting on a comfy couch and chatting over pastries and coffee? Well, probably, at least once in your life, you have.
Almost halfway done! 14 letters more, meaning at least 14 more restaurants to go and I’d be done with this food journey.
What an experience! I never really thought that blogging about all these great places can be so fulfilling. This certainly is a wonderful change from my otherwise tedious and boring life, and I’m absolutely happy that this endeavor has turned out to be a fruitful one.
I’ve been away for some time because I’ve been assigned in the province and it’s been really hard for me to write about the restaurants I’ve visited back in Manila before this assignment. However, today’s quite different. I’ve been stuck in this friggin’ shuttle terminal for more than an hour because the driver wants to have the entire van filled with people before starting the darn vehicle. Hence, out of dire boredom, I decided to write this stuff.
I wrote this blog post on paper while waiting to be served in one of the worst restaurants I’ve ever eaten in in my life (whose name I would not divulge to protect its identity). The service in that restaurant was just too slow that I was already able to complete a draft of this entry before my appetizer was served.
When I and my regular food buddy went to have a quick meal at Icings, the country was then being slammed by one of the strongest typhoons ever to hit Manila and news of floods in different areas, including nearby provinces, were already spreading like a wildfire. But, what can we do? We just love food and no typhoon – weak or strong – can stop us from eating!
